
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has admitted that playing in the Premier League is “an ambition of all players” as he continues to be linked with a summer move to Manchester United. MEN Sport understands that Erik ten Hag wants at least two significant signings in the summer transfer window, with an elite-level striker a priority target for the Reds. United are interested in Osimhen and are long-time admirers of Tottenham talisman Harry Kane. In terms of other striker options, Ten Hag has been impressed by Benfica marksman Goncalo Ramos and believes Ajax frontman Mohammed Kudus has the attributes needed to excel in the Premier League. He has been instrumental in helping Napoli challenge domestically and in Europe, with Luciano Spalletti’s side currently 18 points clear at the top of the Serie A table. The Nigerian frontman has been heavily linked with a move to England in the summer, and he has made his desire to one day play in the Premier League clear. “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day,” he told Corriere della Sera. “Right now, I assure you, it doesn’t even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. [I’m thinking of] Only Napoli.” The 24-year-old also admitted that he was convinced Napoli were more than capable of winning their first Serie A title in 33 years this season. He added: “[I believed Napoli could lift the Scudetto] before we even started winning. And there is a preserved image that testifies to the moment. It was summer, and after a fairly hard training session, I was talking to [André-Frank Zambo] Anguissa. I said to him, ‘Frank, you know that our team is strong and we can really try to win the Scudetto’. “He was sceptical, and I convinced him. Spalletti approaches and asks us what we are talking about. I tell him, and he looks at me and says, ‘if your teammates are convinced, as you are, yes, we can try’. This is how our beautiful story was born, made up of matches, training sessions and men who don’t spare themselves.
