Victor Lindelof opens up about Manchester United’s poor run of form

Victor Lindelof has become the latest Manchester United star to speak out about the club’s recent poor run of form.

Lindelof has been a mainstay in the United team so far this season, having started eight of the club’s opening 11 Premier League games despite the arrival of four-time Champions League winner Raphael Varane in the summer.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have won just three of their last 10 matches in all competitions, a run that includes disappointing Premier League defeats against Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester City.

The 2-0 defeat at home to City last Saturday piled further pressure on boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with former Premier League legends such as Rio Ferdinand and Dietmar Hamann calling for the club to sack the Norwegian.

United have been saved on numerous occasions by Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League so far this term, with the Portugal icon scoring late goals in both the home and away matches against Italian club Atalanta to salvage a win and a draw respectively, while also bagging 95th minute winner against Spanish giants Villarreal.

And Lindelof admits that the recent performances haven’t been good enough, while also revealing that the players have not been listening to any outside noise.

‘When you play for United, there will always be a lot of media coverage. It goes up and down in football,’ he told reporters while away on international duty.

‘We have performed very well in football as well. If you get some bad results, clearly a lot is written. Internally, we’re just trying to work hard and try to reverse the bad results.

‘We have not got the results and performed as we wish. It hasn’t been the best possible, but that’s the way it is in football. It’s about coming back and working harder.’

United will be hoping for an improvement in both performance and result when they travel to Vicarage Road to play Watford in the Premier League on November 20.
