United’s €50m bid will be enough to sign unstoppable 29-yo forward due to special agreement – report

The Bundesliga could provide an answer to Manchester United’s striker concerns once again.

After failing to secure the services of a Premier League-proven number nine, United splashed a significant fee to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old has seemingly adapted well to the Premier League in his early days at United. Still, question marks remain over the youngster’s ability to spearhead the Red Devils’ attack on his own, given his inexperience.

Dortmund open to selling Guirassy

Before Serhou Guirassy left VfB Stuttgart for Borussia Dortmund, United reportedly made an unsuccessful attempt to sign the Guinea international in January of 2024. At the time, he was thought to be available for a fee in the region of €20 million.

The 29-year-old has proven to be a smart bit of business for the Black and Yellow as his reputation has skyrocketed since. He has bagged 44 goals and 13 assists in 60 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions.

According to Bild, Guirassy “could soon leave” Signal Iduna Park, but only at a “clearly agreed price”.

It is revealed that the Guinean forward’s Dortmund contract includes a €50m release clause, which only applies to a handful of clubs.

The German publication claim United are among the special few clubs who will be able to sign Guirassy at the discounted price should they decide to make a move.

Meanwhile, clubs from less high-profile leagues, such as Saudi Arabia, would have to cough up as much as €80m to have any chance of signing the Dortmund talisman.

Barcelona could replace Man United target with Guirassy

United could face competition from Barcelona in the potential transfer race for Guirassy, as the Blaugrana also feature in the aforementioned list of clubs.

It is believed Barca may look to sign Guirassy to possibly replace the ageing Robert Lewandowski.

The ex-Bayern Munich superstar has entered the final year of his contract at Camp Nou. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have “received fresh encouragement” to make a move for Lewandowski.
