Manchester United are finally starting to find some luck in their bid to offload several stars, and things could get better with the latest Alejandro Garnacho claims.
Marcus Rashford is joining Barcelona on a loan deal with an option to buy, while Jadon Sancho is closing in on a switch to Juventus.
The attacking duo could soon be joined through the exit door by Garnacho, who is reportedly unwanted after a fallout with head coach Ruben Amorim following the Europa League final.
It is claimed Amorim told Garnacho he had better pray he finds a club willing to sign him.
While his raw talent is undeniable, with 21 goal involvements in 58 games last season, most of his suitors are yet to make a formal approach over his transfer.
With a clear desire to stay in the Premier League, Garnacho continues to attract strong interest from Aston Villa and Chelsea.
It was expected that both sides, especially Chelsea, whose interest dates back to last winter, would seize the opportunity to sign him.
Chelsea’s wish
However, it has now emerged that United’s hefty asking price may have been hindering the deal.
As highlighted by The i paper: “They (Chelsea) are understood to be willing to bide their time in the hope United come down on their £60m valuation. A deal around £50m would be a compromise at this stage, but there is a feeling that even this figure is too high.”
One might have expected Villa to view Chelsea’s reluctance as a transfer opportunity.
However, they have yet to act, and it is now likely why INEOS have opted to reconsider Garnacho’s valuation.
Tempting Garnacho asking price
According to The Mirror, United now want just £40 million for their number 17.
“Garnacho’s value on the market this time 12 months ago was thought to be around £70m, but his stock has fallen so low that Mirror Football understands United are willing to accept a £30m hit just to get the 21-year-old winger off their books,” the piece reads.
Garnacho’s United exit deal could not get any sweeter.
His suitors, especially Chelsea, who were waiting for the price to drop, now have no excuse not to act.
With Premier League experience, raw talent, and a burning desire to succeed, £40 million is a transfer opportunity too good to ignore.
