United Women learn key information ahead of historic fixtures versus Bayern Munich in CL

Manchester United Women have learned when they will face Bayern Munich in the quarter-final of the Champions League. Wonderful debut campaign The Red Devils finished sixth in the league phase, winning four out of six matches. They also comfortably beat Atlético Madrid 5-0 on aggregate to book their place in the quarter-finals. It was known that they would face German side Bayern Munich, but now the dates and time of the match have been confirmed. Match details The club has confirmed via their official website that the first leg will be played at Old Trafford. Marc Skinner’s side have already played one European match at The Theatre of Dreams this season, beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in November. Swedish star Fridolina Rolfo found a winner on that night. United will welcome the Bavarians on Thursday 26th March. The game will kick off at 20:00 GMT. They will then travel to Munich to face Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 1st April. This match will kick off at the earlier time of 17:45 BST. Should United make it through against the German champions, they will face a mouth-watering tie versus Spanish giants Real Madrid or FC Barcelona in the semi-final. Record versus Bayern The Red Devils are playing their first season in Europe this season, so they have never faced the German club before. Nonetheless, they did play against them in the final of the World Sevens Football tournament in Portugal last year. Sadly, United lost the final 2-1 but will hope to come out on the winning side this time around. Bayern are in formidable form domestically this season, sitting top of the Frauen-Bundesliga with 16 wins from 17 matches. They have not lost in the league this season and have a mammoth goal difference of plus 62 goals.
