United told to submit 130m bid to land 27-yo superstar good enough to transform Carrick’s side – report

Manchester United rediscovered their goalscoring form in the 2025/26 season after spending a small fortune on their attack last summer. The Red Devils finished the campaign with 69 goals in 38 Premier League games, the third-highest in the English top flight after Arsenal and Manchester City. New signings Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko made history by reaching double figures. A marauding Bruno Fernandes, who registered the most assists (21) in a single season in Premier League history, also contributed to United’s third-placed finish. The focus is very much on the midfield this summer, but that has not stopped rumours of further attacking reinforcements, especially with Joshua Zirkzee’s future still uncertain. The English giants are preparing to return to the Champions League next season and will feature in the new format of the tournament for the first time. This means it is going to be a fixture-congested campaign for United, so they could use more firepower in the squad. A previous report relayed by The Peoples Person has named Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen as an option for the job. A long-term United target Osimhen spent four fruitful seasons at Napoli before his move to Galatasaray in the summer of 2024. The Nigerian helped the Partenopei win the Serie A title in the 2022/23 campaign before things went haywire at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. Osimhen initially joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan and helped them win the league and the Turkish Cup in his debut campaign. That prompted the Lions to sign him permanently in a reported €75 million deal last summer. The 27 year old helped Galatasaray retain their league title last season, finishing with 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances. Osimhen has been on United’s wish list for a while, and his consistent goalscoring output means that rumours of a possible move to Old Trafford refuse to die. Recent reports, however, suggest that the Turkish club are ready to offer the Nigerian the armband in a bid to keep him in Istanbul. A fresh update has now emerged that is unlikely to please the Red Devils. Galatasaray set astronomical price tag Speaking to Haber Sarı Kırmızı, journalist Süleyman Rodop insisted that Galatasaray have placed a whopping €150 (£130m) million price tag on Osimhen’s head. He said: “Galatasaray will not consider any offer for Victor Osimhen below 150 million euros.” The Nigerian is under contract with the Lions until 2029, so they have the upper hand in any negotiations. Osimhen is proven in the Champions League, having registered 16 goals and four assists in 27 games, which is why he remains an enticing option for United. However, the Red Devils are working on a strict budget this summer and are likely to direct all their funds into reinforcing the midfield before the start of the new season. As such, a move for Osimhen, especially for the quoted price, looks extremely unlikely. Final Thoughts While playing alongside a proven goalscorer like Osimhen could be beneficial for Sesko, it would have also affected his game time. United, as such, should target an experienced striker who can play second fiddle to the Slovenian, aid in his development, and allow the player to realise his potential next season.
