Manchester United are keeping tabs on young Italian striker Francesco Pio Esposito.
The Red Devils have made youth recruitment a key priority lately and have brought some exciting names to the team.
Leny Yoro, Sekou Kone and Chido Obi were all signed last season and 17 year old Diego Leon is on the cusp of officially joining.
United also have numerous exciting attacking options in the academy system such as Gabriele Biancheri.
Nonetheless, the club are always on the lookout for more talent and Calciomercato claim that the Red Devils have their eyes on another young gem.
“Francesco Pio Esposito, born in 2005, has put in extraordinary performances with Spezia this season, in addition to almost always prolific appearances with the Under 21s.”
Inter Milan own the rights to the player but he decided to stay on loan at Spezia this season and that is “a choice that is paying off, as his repertoire is extraordinary.”
His fine form has attracted interest from abroad and “there are the eyes of two clubs that have followed him and will continue to monitor him. These are Manchester United and Leicester”, who are expected to follow up their interest in the near future.
The 19 year old has taken Serie B by storm, scoring nine goals and providing one assist in 18 matches in the current campaign.
He has “rapidly emerged as one of Italy’s most promising young footballers, establishing himself as a future star at Inter Milan.”
“Esposito’s blend of technical skills, tactical intelligence, and physical attributes sets him apart from his peers”.
The forward is seen as an ideal modern striker with his height, high pressing, ball control and finishing ability.
United are also reportedly keeping tabs on fellow teenage striker Stefanos Tzimas who plies his trade at PAOK Thessaloniki but is currently on loan at Nuremberg.
