United submit opening offer to Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo, they mean business – David Ornstein

Blockbuster news has just dropped with journalist David Ornstein revealing Manchester United have submitted their opening offer for Bryan Mbeumo.

As per The Athletic‘s reliable journalist, the Red Devils’ opening offer is worth £45 million plus £10 million in potential add-ons.

The fee is not expected to be accepted by Brentford who are holding out for £60 million as per recent reports. They want a similar fee like what United paid for Matheus Cunha to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

“Manchester United have submitted an opening offer to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

“The proposal values Mbeumo at £45million plus £10m in add-ons, which is some way below the kind of fee it would take for Brentford to consider selling their Cameroon international forward.”

His wage demands are also excessive with the 25-year-old demanding a five-fold increase from £50,000 to £250,000 per week to sign on the dotted line.

United have reportedly agreed to pay that amount, now it is all about agreeing a fee with the Bees. Talks are expected to continue in the coming days over the final fee but a sensational move is inching ever closer.

The Cameroonian only has only one year left on his current deal plus an option to extend by 12 months but is eager to move to Old Trafford after rejecting both Newcastle and Arsenal.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a stunning campaign last time out, scoring 20 goals and adding eight assists, with United earmarking him as the perfect asset for Ruben Amorim’s system.

Fee yet to be agreed

The 20-time English league champions were eager to add two attacking midfielders to their team after seeing Rasmus Hojlund complain about the lack of service.

If both Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo arrive in the same window, it would be quite the statement from INEOS to the rest of the Premier League.

Once adding creative midfielders is taken care of, the co-owners are likely to focus on adding an elite striker to the mix.

It must be remembered that both Cunha and the Bees forward can play up front if needed, which makes their additions even more worthwhile.
