United submit formal bid to sign sensational defender after sending their academy star the other way – report

Manchester United youngster Harry Amass, who is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, finds himself under the spotlight following Ruben Amorim’s criticism of his performance this season. However, Amass is enjoying a fine run of form in the Championship. The young left-back posted a picture of him with a Player of the Month award at Wednesday in response to Amorim’s comments.  Amass is doing so well at Wednesday that as many as 12 clubs are reported to be interested in snapping up the Carrington graduate in January. Interestingly, he is not the only young left-back facing an uncertain future at Hillsborough. Manchester United make offer for Yisa Alao According to The Star, United and Liverpool have made bids to sign Yisa Alao, who has been described as a “very exciting” left-back. On the back of delivering “excellent performances” at youth level, the 17-year-old made his senior debut in August, helping the Owls knock out Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup. Alao has made three first-team appearances for Wednesday so far. It is understood that offers from the Premier League duo “came in around the mid-level six-figure mark, and that neither have been accepted as things stand.” Meanwhile, Wednesday are keen to tie their highly-rated academy product down to his first professional deal, but their financial problems could force their hands. Man United sign Derby County talent Amorim might not be following the Championship with a keen interest, but United are closely monitoring England’s second tier in their bid to strengthen their academy.  Early this month, United announced the signing of Charlie Hardy from Derby County.  The 16-year-old goalkeeper has won five caps at Under-16s level for England.  Featured image Christopher Furlong via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
