United star’s agent offers him to European bigwigs but full agreement hinges on one decisive factor – report

The agent of Manchester United star Rasmus Hojlund reportedly offered him to a big European club as speculation over his future rumbles on.

Hojlund running out of time at United

Hojlund endured another difficult season at United, only netting four Premier League goals in 2024/25.

The Dane has struggled to justify his £72m price tag and patience is wearing thin as United aim to be a more competitive outfit moving forward.

United are believed to be open to offers for Hojlund amidst a general consensus that he currently doesn’t have what it takes to lead the line for such a club.

The strongest interest in him appears to be coming from Italy as he continues to be linked to the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Lazio, Atalanta and Napoli. However, concrete offers for him have yet to arrive. So far, suitors have asked about loan deals but United’s preference is for a permanent sale, which would allow them to reinvest the money on a new striker.

Some potential replacements for Hojlund include Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea), Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace).

It appears Hojlund is also bracing for an Old Trafford exit, with a fresh report indicating that his agent has offered him to AC Milan.

Hojlund’s agent offers him to Milan

Corriere dello Sport claim that Milan are searching for a striker who will provide compete with Santiago Giménez for a starting berth and they have a list that includes three players.

These three players align with two crucial criteria: they are well-suited to adapt quickly to the demands of Italian football, and the deal to sign them should be financially feasible.

Milan’s top target is Liverpool man Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan is on his way out of Anfield and Milan have identified him as someone who could seamlessly slot into their ranks.

The other player on the shortlist is Dusan Vlahovic, who has fallen out of favour at Juventus. The Old Lady are desperately trying to offload him and Milan could be his next transfer destination. The third player is of course, Hojlund.

Corriere dello Sport state about Hojlund, “Rasmus Højlund also remains of interest. His agent recently offered him to Milan, although it’s Manchester United who would need to agree to a loan with an option to buy.”

Hojlund started in United’s 2-1 pre-season victory over West Ham at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. He demonstrated some signs of improvement, even drawing some praise from Amorim. However, it’s clear he still has plenty to work on before he can be fully trusted.
