Manchester United had two players in action during the South American World Cup qualifiers last night.

Casemiro

The Brazilian has had a positive start to the season, playing as first choice alongside Bruno Fernandes in the middle of the park.

The appointment of his former manager at Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, as Brazilian national coach has also seen a return to A Seleção.

It has been reported that he is likely to leave United next summer but turned down a move to Saudi Arabia this summer as he believes playing in England will enhance his chances of playing for Brazil in the World Cup.

Brazil took on Chile and came out on top 3-0 in a comfortable victory in their penultimate qualifier.

Casemiro played 66 minutes of the match and completed 84% of his passes in the middle of the park.

He made one key pass and impressively completed five out of his seven long ball attempts.

Casemiro completed his only dribble attempt and had one shot off target in the match.

The veteran was also impressive in the air, winning 75% of his aerial duels.

Manuel Ugarte

The Uruguayan has had a less successful start to the season than his teammate as he has been unable to break into the United first eleven.

The 24-year-old came on in the 69th minute as Uruguay ran out 3-0 winners over Peru.

He took care of the ball well, completing 92% of his passes.

Ugarte also made one key pass and was successful in his only long ball attempt.

The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder won his only aerial duel but lost both his ground contests in the match.

He will next be in action when Uruguay face Chile on Tuesday evening (Wednesday morning BST time).
