United star makes club “total priority” as exit draws closer – Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has made a clear decision on his next club.

Garnacho exit

The Argentine winger fell out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim last season and was left on the bench for the Europa League final.

After criticising the decision, he was reportedly told by Amorim that he had better find a new club for next season.

The 21-year-old has been linked to numerous teams such as SSC Napoli, who were interested in his signature in January.

He also has admirers in England and it has been widely reported that his preference is to stay in the Premier League.

Chelsea are his preference

Nonetheless, Chelsea have generally been seen as Garnacho’s preferred destination and now reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that he has given his total priority to a move to Stamford Bridge.

Romano posted on X, “Alejandro Garnacho has given his total priority to Chelsea, talks took place on player side.”

No deal imminent

He went on to claim that no negotiations have yet taken place with Manchester United and that “the price will be a key factor.”

There have been reports that United would now be willing to sell the winger for £40 million after reducing their price from earlier in the summer.

It was also stated in Romano’s post that the timing of the deal is “not expected to be imminent” and can take some time with “Chelsea focused on outgoings and Xavi Simons.”

A matter of time

With United already signing Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and on the lookout for a striker, there seems to be little space for Garnacho.

In addition, with the player giving his total priority to a move to Chelsea, combined with their persistent interest in a deal, it looks like an agreement is likely to be found towards the end of the window.
