United set to launch third new bid for Mbeumo in next few hours, should be decisive – report

Manchester United are reportedly set to lodge a third and improved offer for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo on Wednesday.

United have been locked in talks with Brentford for weeks now to try and get a deal for Mbeumo over the line.

At the start of June, United tabled an initial offer worth a total £55m, which was swiftly rejected by Brentford. The Red Devils recently upped their bid, presenting the Bees with a proposal worth a base fee of £55m plus a further £7.5m in add-ons. This second offer valued Mbuemo at the same price as Matheus Cunha, whose arrival has already been confirmed by United.

But, Brentford dismissed this offer as well and are thought to be holding out for a significantly higher fee.

The two clubs have remained in discussions to try and reach a compromise, although United have been adamant they will not overpay for the player.

Amidst all this, David Ornstein revealed that Mbeumo made it clear to both Brentford and suitors Tottenham Hotspur that he only wishes to join United.

The Cameroonian is believed to have an agreement in place with United over personal terms and if all goes well, he is scheduled to have a medical at Carrington this week.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United were set to make a third and final offer for Mbuemo and now, UtdDistrict have revealed that this will happen as soon as today.

According to the news outlet, “United want Mbeumo to be at the club for the first day of Amorim’s pre-season training, due to commence at Carrington on Monday, 7 July.”

“UtdDistrict understands that, following a fresh round of talks with Brentford, United are set to submit a fresh bid for Mbeumo today (Wednesday, 2 July).”

“The recent set of talks with Brentford surrounding the 25-year-old Cameroon international were positive, with there being hope a deal can be finalised before the end of the week.”

Hopefully, it’ll be third time lucky for United as they aim to make Mbeumo the latest addition to Ruben Amorim’s ranks.
