United ready to make stunning bid to sign La Liga midfielder, he’s an absolute goal-machine – report

Manchester United are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, as per reports.

Ruben Amorim could see a massive midfield overhaul at Old Trafford next season, as a number of midfielders face uncertain futures at United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Christian Eriksen is set to depart as a free agent. The ageing Casemiro is not viewed as a key part of Amorim’s squad, with United open to listening to offers for him in the summer.

Further, there are question marks on the situation of Kobbie Mainoo, as the talented academy product and United are yet to reach an agreement over a new long-term contract. A report in Spain suggests the Premier League giants have started making plans to revamp their midfield with a blockbuster signing.

Manchester United want Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde

According to Fichajes, United have set their sights on Valverde.

The Uruguayan midfielder has become a focal point of Carlo Ancelotti’s side at Santiago Bernabeu.

Valverde has always earned praise for his tireless out-of-possession work but Ancelotti has also turned him into an elite goalscoring midfielder by giving him freedom to dart into the final third.

The 26-year-old has bagged eight goals and assisted seven times across all competitions this term.

Apart from Valverde’s skill sets, United also reportedly admire his leadership qualities and believe he is capable of setting the Premier League alight.

It is claimed that United plan to submit a €100 million (£84.5m) offer to convince Los Blancos to part ways with their star midfielder.

The Spanish outlet add that Real are not too keen on selling Valverde, who is tied to the club until the summer of 2029.

Given United’s financial restrictions, they might not have a €100m transfer budget without major sales. As such, it is far-fetched to suggest they are prepared to test Real’s resolve with such an offer. The report should be taken with a grain of salt.
