United ready to bid €30m for exciting Brazilian talent, Ligue 1 giants “seriously considering” deal – report

Manchester United are preparing to make an offer for AS Monaco right-back Vanderson, as per reports.

Known for his aggressive style of defending and positional awareness, Vanderson has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s most potent fullbacks.

The Brazilian mainly thrives at right-back but he is also capable of playing on the opposite flank. He made 41 appearances for the Principality club last season, registering two goals and five assists.

Signed from Gremio in 2022, the 23-year-old is tied to the club until 2028. However, Monaco are reportedly considering selling him this summer.

According to Fichajes, United have set their sights on Vanderson as they look to strengthen their options at the back.

It is claimed the Red Devils have made “initial contacts” and are prepared to offer €30 million to secure his services.

The Spanish outlet suggest Monaco are “seriously considering” accepting United’s proposal.

His exit is so likely that the Ligue 1 giants are reportedly already looking to find solutions to fill his void. Meanwhile, it is believed United are “working to finalise a deal” for the Monaco star.

Having said that, Vanderson doesn’t seem to be an ideal candidate for the right wing-back spot under Ruben Amorim.

Much of his best work comes off the ball and in the defensive third. Meanwhile, Amorim relies heavily on his wing-backs to create width and make a difference in the final third.

Should United get the deal over the line for Bryan Mbeumo, Amad is most likely to occupy the wing-back role on the right flank.

As such, it is difficult to see INEOS having any serious interest in Vanderson and the suggestion of an offer for the Brazil international seems wide of the mark.
