United plotting massive €80m transfer coup for Bundesliga star with world-class potential – Sky

Manchester United continue to keep a close eye on RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

According to Florian Plettenberg (Sky Sports), United maintain a keen interest in the Dutch playmaker as they look to bolster their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Leipzig are demanding a hefty €80 million for the player, making a potential move difficult for United.

Simons has enjoyed a successful spell in the Bundesliga, making him an attractive prospect for top European clubs.

He is a dynamic attacking midfielder renowned for his exceptional dribbling skills, agility, and ability to navigate tight spaces.

His low centre of gravity and explosive acceleration make him a constant threat in one-on-one situations.

Leipzig would prefer to keep him, but a transfer remains possible if their valuation is met.

United are not limiting their search to Simons alone.

The club is also actively scouting other options in the Bundesliga, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike among the names under consideration.

A new striker remains a priority for United, but the club is equally keen on securing a versatile attacking midfielder to complement Ruben Amorim’s system.

With the summer window fast approaching, negotiations and scouting efforts are expected to intensify.

While United’s admiration for Simons is clear, the financial demands from Leipzig make any deal uncertain.

It remains to be seen whether the club will push forward with an offer or shift focus to more affordable alternatives.
