United plotting blockbuster €100m double raid on CL giants that will send shockwaves across Europe – report

Manchester United have kept a mere four clean sheets in all competitions this calendar year and once again conceded first against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday.

It took another late comeback, this time a stoppage-time equaliser from Rasmus Hojlund to grab a point against the 10-man Cherries.

With Diogo Dalot potentially out for the season and Lisandro Martinez out till next year, Ruben Amorim could do with potential defensive additions in the summer.

Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are also expected to depart upon the expiration of their contracts and if funds permit, the Red Devils need a centre-back and another wingback.

Defensive reinforcements

As per Inter Live, the 20-time English league champions are planning to do just that and are plotting a €100 million double raid on the Nerazzurri, who have reached the Champions League semi-finals again.

United’s intended targets are Yann Bisseck and long-term target Denzel Dumfries with a €60 million bid intended for the German defender and the remaining €40 million for the Dutch ace.

Though the Netherlands international recently signed a contract extension until 2028, Inter chairman Giuseppe Marotta
remains open to the possibility of recouping a huge fee from the double sale.

“A big club disappointed by the progress of a disastrous season, although still salvageable with the possible victory of the Europa League , is about to make the decisive assault on two players of the Milanese squad. A double offer that is difficult not to take into consideration.

“Even though Inter have always resisted offers from across the Channel – even renewing Denzel Dumfries’ contract expiring in June 2025, which extended the marriage until 2028 – Marotta is not insensitive to the rich economic proposals of the British clubs.

“We are talking about Yann Bisseck, the German defender who, although not a regular starter, has considerably increased his market value in just under two years with the Nerazzurri club.

Double offer

“Manchester United, which is preparing to start yet another technical revolution, is preparing a mega offer of 100 million in total for the two players: 40 for the Dutchman, 60 for the Teutonic.”

Bisseck has helped keep 18 clean sheets in all competitions and has also registered two goals and three assists. He is still behind Benjamin Pavard, Alessandro Bastoni, and Francesco Acerbi in the pecking order at San Siro, which could explain the rise of exit rumours.

Dumfries has eight goals and three assists this season and excels as a wingback but at 29, he might not be the best fit, especially now that Erik ten Hag and his Dutch-based transfer philosophy is a thing of the past.

Amorim has already suggested that he is not thinking of defensive reinforcements at present and unless Europa League success comes and major sales also take place, it is difficult to see United spend such a lot of money on these two Inter Milan stars.
