United offered chance to sign former Ten Hag favourite, INEOS considering making “last-gasp” move – report

Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to sign Brian Brobbey, as per reports.

United’s recruitment team had their one foot in Amsterdam when Erik ten Hag was in charge of the club, as the Red Devils explored potential deals for multiple Ajax stars.

The Dutchman managed to sign Lisandro Martinez and Antony from the Dutch giants. He also reunited with ex-Ajax stars Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt last summer.

Had Ten Hag had his way, several more Ajax players would have been part of his failed project at Old Trafford.

The former United boss reportedly tried to sign Brobbey but the club failed to lure the striker to Manchester during his tenure. Now, it seems his representatives are pushing for a move.

According to GIVEMESPORT, United are contemplating whether to pursue the Ajax star after “key figures at Old Trafford were offered the chance to pounce as the transfer deadline approaches.”

West Ham United are understood to be keen on signing the 22-year-old striker but it is suggested that United “could make a last-gasp decision” to beat the Hammers.

The London-based outfit are in talks over a loan move, but Ajax are only interested in selling the striker or sanctioning a loan deal, including obligation to buy.

United, meanwhile, prefer to sign a new goalscorer on a permanent basis. This has supposedly given them an upper hand over West Ham.

Brobbey has struggled under Francesco Farioli this term but he is still a highly-rated number nine, who scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists across all competitions last campaign.

Having said that, INEOS are currently working on adding Patrick Dorgu to their ranks. Considering the club’s financial fair play concerns, it is tough to see them lodge a bid for Brobbey without a major sale.

Both Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford have attracted interest from several clubs but so far no suitor have shown a desire to meet United’s demands.
