United make shock €90m offer for “untouchable” 25-yo sensation as Ineos look to make statement signing – report

Manchester United’s hierarchy are busy addressing Ruben Amorim’s attack on the back of a dire campaign going forward.

Having already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, United are now locked in talks with Brentford to acquire another wide playmaker, Bryan Mbeumo. INEOS also want to add a new striker to the club’s ranks.

Considering their limited transfer budget, United’s focus on attack might force Amorim to head into the new season with the same midfield.

However, a report in Spain indicates the Red Devils are prepared to make a statement signing in midfield.

Manchester United make offer for Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni

According to Eduardo Inda (via Defensa Central), United are determined to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni from Real Madrid and have accordingly made a significant offer for the Frenchman.

The 25-year-old moved to Santiago Bernabeu from AS Monaco in 2022. Under Carlo Ancelotti, the dynamic midfielder struggled to cement his place in the side’s starting lineup.

However, the arrival of Xabi Alonso has made him an “untouchable” option at Real. The Spanish tactician has brilliantly used Tchouaméni’s press resistance and ball-carrying ability in build-up play.

United also highly-rate the France international and have reportedly “offered 90 million euros” to test Real’s resolve.

Los Blancos are expected to revamp their squad on the back of an underwhelming campaign. They also suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup.

Still, it is claimed that the Spanish giants are not too keen on losing Tchouaméni despite United’s €90m offer.

Manchester United need a new midfielder

Considering United’s priorities and their budget, the suggestion they have “gone all out” to get Tchouaméni seems far-fetched. Instead, the Mancunians are more likely to pursue a cut-price deal.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are looking to sign Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City. The Nigerian midfielder’s contract includes a relegation release clause worth around €10m.

Ndidi could prove to be a shrewd signing to challenge the likes of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte for a spot in Amorim’s midfield.
