United join the race for Spanish wonderkid, INEOS have ace up their sleeve that will break Liverpool hearts – report

Since INEOS took charge of sporting affairs at Manchester United, they have focussed on adding quality young players instead of recruiting big-name mercenaries looking for a final payday.

Deals for Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu prove this point, and more is to follow in the coming windows.

While the club have already completed a deal for Matheus Cunha and are close to agreeing a move for Bryan Mbeumo, more attacking reinforcements could be on the way.

As per Estadio Deportivo, the Red Devils are among three Premier League clubs looking at Real Betis’ Jesus Rodriguez, with Liverpool and Aston Villa being the other two English sides in the fray.

Jesus Rodriguez interest

RB Leipzig have offered €20 million to the Spanish side for the 19-year-old, but Betis are hoping for an auction for the player who has a release clause worth €35 million.

“It’s no surprise, therefore, that Aston Villa are looking for wingers, preferably on the left. And ESTADIO Deportivo has been able to confirm that one of the most popular is Jesús Rodríguez

“RB Leipzig have launched an offer for him, making it clear that they would put 20 million euros on the table, variables included, who is also handling other suitors from the Premier League — Liverpool and Manchester United were strongly mentioned.

“But there are at least two more clubs with his name underlined on the agenda and some from Serie A sides like Juventus, Napoli. With a release clause of 35 million, Real Betis is holding the auction for its youth player.”

Swap deal?

The Spaniard can play on either flank and managed three goals and two assists for the club in his breakthrough campaign, impressive figures to say the least.

While the Spain U21 international is not an immediate priority, his talent levels makes him a market opportunity that could pay dividends moving forward.

Betis are reportedly keen to re-enter talks with the Red Devils over Antony, and INEOS could use this chance to propose a player-plus-cash deal which could suit both parties.

The La Liga side are unlikely to afford United’s €50 million asking price, and a player exchange deal could be the best way to conclude a deal.
