United in contact for 128m French attacker, CL giants to hold meeting before sanctioning record transfer – report

Manchester United want to make a marquee signing this summer, but the Red Devils are refusing to pay a premium to land their targets. As a result, they have missed out on several of their midfield targets. Earlier this week, it was suggested that United are “ready” to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni, but the Frenchman has now agreed to extend his contract at Real Madrid. With both Ederson and Andrey Santos representing budget additions, United might use their funds to bring in a marquee attacker instead. Manchester United being kept in loop for Bradley Barcola According to TEAMtalk, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola’s camp are actively exploring a move this summer. Liverpool are thought to be his strongest suitors, but Manchester United also remain in the race, with the Red Devils keen to strengthen their left flank. The France international wants to assess his options after slipping down the pecking order in the French capital. He has just two years left to run on his contract. PSG reportedly want to hold fresh talks with Barcola once he returns from the World Cup. “Should he again reject a new contract and restate his desire to leave, sources believe the Ligue 1 giants will reluctantly consider sanctioning a sale,” the report adds. It is claimed United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been kept “fully informed of developments” as PSG find themselves in a tricky spot. Intermediaries allegedly believe the Champions League winners will seek around  €150million (£128m) for the 23-year-old. Manchester United keen on PSG’s young attacker Given how INEOS have operated so far, they may baulk at breaking the British transfer record for Barcola, who, despite his immense potential, is not a starter at his current club. Interestingly, it has been previously reported that United are keeping an eye on PSG youngster Ibrahim Mbaye, who is considering his future in France for the same reason. The Senegal winger is thought to be valued in the region of €35m (£30m) this summer.
