United hold surprise talks to sign World Cup hat-trick hero told to find a new club by Euro champions – report

Manchester United have been offered an opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Gonçalo Ramos in a cut-price deal, as per reports.

It is no secret United are desperate for a new striker this summer, with both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to nail down the starting spot at Old Trafford.

Heading into the summer, the Red Devils had Liam Delap at the top of their wishlist, but the Ipswich Town striker has agreed to join Chelsea instead.

United also admire Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres but the former’s financial demands are likely to be only met by Saudi Arabia and the latter values Champions League football over reuniting with his former Sporting CP boss.

According to United In Focus’ Graeme Bailey, as relayed by Express, United’s search for a striker has alerted other clubs to contact the Mancunians over a potential deal.

It is understood that United have been offered an opportunity to sign PSG forward Ramos.

The Portugal international moved to the French capital in 2023 from Benfica. However, Luis Enrique’s preference to use Ousmane Dembélé as a false nine has hampered Ramos’ development.

Accordingly, PSG have told the 23-year-old’s representatives that he can leave this summer, leading to his people talking to a number of clubs, including United.

It is claimed the Premier League giants were a club the Portuguese star was keen on joining before PSG secured his services from Benfica.

The Champions League winners want £50 million for Ramos but are willing to negotiate further.

Ramos, who scored a memorable hat-trick in the 2022 World Cup, is known for his technical prowess and ability to drop deep to link up with his teammates, akin to Zirkzee.

With runners around him, he could prove to be a shrewd option in attack for Ruben Amorim. He has scored 32 goals for PSG across two seasons.
