United desperate to get rid of one of Ten Hag’s worst-ever signings, he has been offered to AC Milan and Atletico Madrid – report

Manchester United are eager to get rid of Rasmus Hojlund, after the Dane’s disastrous last season, in which he managed a meagre four Premier League goals in the whole campaign.

However, INEOS are aware that it will not be easy to sell him given his poor form, which is why they are contemplating a loan exit.

Inter Milan seemed to be the favourites, but there is also interest from Juventus and, most recently, Real Madrid.

Xabi Alonso is on the lookout for an out-and-out striker and does not want to employ Kylian Mbappe as the sole striker in all games, and the United star is also reportedly keen to move to the Bernabeu.

United have offered Rasmus Hojlund to AC Milan and Atletico Madrid

And Defensa Central have claimed the Red Devils are so desperate to move the Denmark international on that they have offered his services to AC Milan and Atletico Madrid as well.

“Manchester United don’t count on Højlund for next year, but they don’t want to give him away after a poor year. He’s young, just 23, and had previously been guaranteed a year in Italy.

“Now, the option of United loaning the player out next season to increase his value is on the table. The player has also been offered to Milan and Inter in Italy, and to Atlético Madrid in Spain.”

Offering Rasmus Hojlund to fierce rivals AC Milan and Atletico could be INEOS’ way of forcing Real and Inter to wake up and act fast.

Loan exit on the cards

The report seems to suggest it will be a loan deal and not a permanent offer, something United will have to grudgingly accept if they are to earn a higher fee from the Denmark international’s future sale.

It is clear that the ex-Atalanta ace is not ready to lead the line for a club like United, with the United No.9 struggling with his back-to-goal play and even with his ball control.

A move elsewhere, especially to a slower and less physical league could lead to the striker regaining his form and confidence.

The Red Devils could subsequently choose to reintegrate him back into the squad or sell him to the highest bidder with his market value having been improved.
