United already in talks to sign sensational breakout PL forward of the season, they want to tie it up quickly – report

Manchester United have reportedly made a move to sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton.

United were recently dealt a massive transfer blow by Chelsea, as the Blues agreed a deal to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP.

Ruben Amorim handed Quenda his senior breakthrough in Lisbon and several reports suggested that the United head coach was keen on reuniting with the Portuguese sensation. He was seen as an ideal option to strengthen United’s right flank. Now, he will join Chelsea in the summer of 2026.

Strengthening wing-back and forward positions is believed to be United’s priority during the summer transfer window, and Ineos have already started looking at alternative options to Quenda.

According to GIVEMESPORT, United have opened talks with Southampton to explore the possibility of signing Dibling.

Dibling is viewed as an ideal wide option following the Quenda setback, owing to his versatility, work rate, and creativity.

The Englishman, who has featured on the right flank as well as through the middle for the Saints, has enjoyed a promising season despite his side’s disastrous form.

The report claims that United “already have an avenue of communication open with Southampton about a potential deal for the 19-year-old.”

However, the Red Devils will only negotiate further if the finances involved make sense to them.

Southampton valued Dibling, who is also being chased by Tottenham Hotspur, at £55 million during the January transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Southampton will lower their demands following their likely relegation to the Championship. They currently sit at rock bottom, 17 points away from safety.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United have also approached Juventus regarding their talented forward Kenan Yildiz.
