United academy product will not return to Old Trafford, set for shock move away from Europe – report

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is closing in on a move to Inter Miami, as per reports.

Pogba is now free to play professional football after serving an 18-month ban from football. Having mutually agreed to terminate his Juventus contract, the Frenchman is available on a free transfer.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the 32-year-old is on United’s radar. The suggestion of Pogba returning to Old Trafford for a second time excited many fans, especially considering the form of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

Question marks remain over his fitness but as far as the technical prowess is concerned, the World Cup winner might still prove to be an upgrade on several United midfielders.

However, a report from Spain suggests the France international is set for a move to the stateside.

According to Fichajes, Pogba is on the verge of completing a move to Inter.

The MLS outfit are in advanced negotiations to seal his signature on a free transfer. Further, it is claimed that the deal could be made official in the coming weeks.

Under David Beckham’s leadership, Inter have signed many high-profile stars from European football, not least Lionel Messi.

Interestingly, it is the Barcelona legend who is understood to be pushing his club to sign Pogba.

The report states: “The Argentine star reportedly asked the club’s board to make an effort to sign the midfielder, seeing him as an ideal partner to strengthen the team.”

The Spanish outlet claims Pogba is ready to take on a new challenge in the MLS and end his chapter in Europe.

United, meanwhile, are reported to be interested in bringing ex-Manchester City midfielder Felix Nmecha back to the Premier League to strengthen their midfield.
