Unexpected club launches shock move to sign United’s Alejandro Garnacho – report

Fenerbahce have reportedly made a move to sign Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho inching closer to United exit

Garnacho is not believed to have a future at United while Ruben Amorim remains in charge of the team.

The pair’s relationship irreparably broke down at the end of last season, which saw Garnacho exiled from the team and excluded from the team’s pre-season plans.

He, alongside four other United players —Marcus Rashford (who has since joined Barcelona on loan), Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia —were instructed to train alone while the rest of the squad returned from pre-season. They were also dropped from the travelling party that made its way to the United States.

Garnacho has not been short of suitors but concerete offers for him have yet to arrive.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Chelsea are his preferred destination. The Blues are also interested in him but appear to be biding their time, likely planning a late move in the window to pressure United into accepting a much lower fee.

The Carrington academy graduate has also been linked to the likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Al-Nassir.

Now, CaughtOffside reveal that Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce have entered the fray for Garnacho’s signature and have even established contact to explore the conditions of a deal.

Fenerbahce eyeing Garnacho

CaughtOffside claim, “Fenerbahce have initiated early contact to explore the feasibility of a shock move to Istanbul but the Turkish giants face stiff competition and a clear disadvantage in terms of player preference and European pedigree.”

United initially wanted €80m for the 21-year-old but it’s said they’re now prepared to accept a fee in the region of €50-60m.

Any proceeds gained from parting ways with Garnacho would instantly be registered as ‘pure profit’ on the club’s books, owing to his status as a homegrown player.

Garnacho’s current contract with United runs until 2028.
