Tyson Fury and Patrice Evra meet after Manchester United warning to players

Tyson Fury and Patrice Evra have enjoyed dinner together days after the heavyweight champion of the world threatened to go to the Manchester United training ground to ‘sort the players out’.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been on the wrong end of results in recent weeks, with the win over Tottenham being their only triumph in their previous six Premier League matches.

The win ended Nuno Espirito Santo’s short term reign at Spurs and the accompanying draw against a resilient Atalanta felt that a corner had been turned — until Manchester City inflicted further misery and increased the pressure of the Norwegian.

Two first-half goals sealed the three points for Pep Guardiola’s side as Eric Bailly inadvertently put the ball beyond David de Gea before Bernardo Silva prodded the ball home on the stroke of half time.

The defeat was labelled by Fury as a “worse beating” than the one the Morecambe-born United fan inflicted on heavyweight rival Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas last month.

After the defeat, Fury said on Instagram: “After today’s defeat from City with Manchester United, it is fair to say that United are taking a worse beating than Deontay Wilder took in all his fights versus me.

“We are absolutely getting smashed out there.

“I think partly it is because the players — with no disrespect to any of you — it doesn’t seem like you are digging deep to try and win these games.

“It just seems like you’re happy to get through them and whatever happens, happens.

“You know, when I fought Wilder and I was on the floor, and any man I’ve ever fought, I never believed I was going to lose the fight.

“I always believed I would come back and win, and that is called a winner’s mentality, something that you guys in the last two games have just not had.

“I think me and Patrice Evra will come down to training and give you the hard word of what you need — I’ll see you all soon, be prepared.”

Although the pair haven’t been spotted in the vicinity of Carrington, they did enjoy a meal together, with Evra first tweeting: “Sorry for the result.. but it was a great chat Mon ami [my friend] @Tyson_Fury Real person with a great heart #ilovethisgame #positive4evra.”

Before the boxer replied: “Thank you for the hospitality @Evra! Great to link up and discuss the game and team we both love some much @ManUtd #ilovethisgame see you soon brother.”
