Two managers being considered by Aston Villa as Dean Smith replacement

An insight into who Aston Villa are looking to replace Dean Smith with has been provided on Sunday afternoon.

Dean Smith sacked Dean Smith would be the latest Premier League manager put on the chopping block on Sunday.

The club would officially confirm that Smith had left the club and that a search for his replacement has begun:

Smith leaves Aston Villa in some pretty poor form. Despite attempting to replace Jack Grealish over the summer with the signings of Leon Bailey, Danny Ings and Emi Buendia, it has so far not worked out too well for the Villains.

After losing to Southampton on Friday, Villa are only sat 17th in the Premier League table on just 10 points from 11 outings.

They also have one of the worst defences in the Premier League this season.

Aston Villa eyeing Smith replacements Now, not long after Smith was sacked, an insight into who Aston Villa are looking to replace him with has been provided.

According to the Telegraph, Aston Villa are looking at potentially appointing Steven Gerrard and Ralph Hasenhuttl:

The move would seemingly make sense for Steve Gerrard as it would give him a chance to prove himself in England before taking a big job.

It is, however, hard to see Hasenhuttl leaving Southampton for Villa as it doesn’t really look like much of a step up.
