Troubled United winger embroiled in police drama following latest driving offence – report

Marcus Rashford is facing further legal troubles after his latest driving offence.

Having fallen out of favour with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, the English forward was sent on loan to Aston Villa, where he would hope to revive his flailing career.

Since then, it has become apparent that his loan has paid off, particularly with Rashford producing an impressive outing for England in a 3-0 thumping of Latvia.

But while his sporting future appears to be looking brighter than before his loan, Rashford’s life off the pitch has remained as tumultuous as ever.

The Sun reported that Rashford has been hit with fines following yet another driving offence.

“Rashford has been fined almost £800 over more driving offences – while he was banned from getting behind the wheel,” the report read. “The Aston Villa ace, on loan from Man United, failed to give Cheshire Police information about who was driving his £100,000 electric BMW I7 motor on October 30 last year.”

“Cops sent the star a letter asking him to identify who was driving as they were “alleged to have been guilty of an offence. He pleaded guilty to failing to respond at Warrington magistrates’ court through the single justice procedure on March 13.”

“It means it is still unclear who was driving the car,” the article continued. “The £350,000-a-week ace was fined £500, and must cough up £200 in surcharges and £90 in costs, which he must pay by April 10. He was also given six penalty points on his license.”

This latest driving controversy comes after Rashford was handed a six-month driving ban in 2024 after he overtook an unmarked police car in his Rolls-Royce Cullinan Blue Shadow, reaching a speed of 104mph.

On that occasion, he received a £1,666 fine, a £666 victim surcharge, and £120 in court costs after pleading guilty to the offence.

That was just three months after he crashed a different Rolls-Royce.

The fact that Rashford was caught for this driving offence while his ban was still active is yet another major concern. What’s more, his personal controversies go beyond his vehicles, with the winger embarking on a “12-hour tequila bender” at the start of last year.

It appears that no matter what Rashford does on the pitch, his personal issues persist. It looks as if United would do well to part ways with the player on a permanent basis this summer so as not to add any dressing room drama to the mix, particularly as Amorim’s team looks to improve their fortunes on the pitch.
