Manchester United supporters have been voting on the players they do and don’t want to see arrive at Old Trafford this summer.

It’s already been an extremely productive transfer window for United, with Jadon Sancho finally signed from Borussia Dortmund after numerous failed attempts.

A deal for World Cup-winning centre-back Raphael Varane has also been agreed with Real Madrid, with a medical and the finalisation of the move all that’s left before the Frenchman is confirmed as a United player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t satisfied there, however, and wants to make yet more reinforcements in order to make his squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season.

A right-back and centre-midfielder are the top priorities, while the club have also not ruled out bringing yet another centre-back in either.

The Manchester Evening News has been asking readers to take part in a survey in recent weeks to give their view on who is the most ‘must buy’ player out of the plethora of stars United have been linked with, with nearly 70,000 supporters taking part.

We asked readers to rate the players on a scale of 1-10 on how much of a priority they should be and, unsurprisingly, Varane was named as the biggest priority with 50 per cent of supporters rating him 9 or 10.

Defence was a weak spot for United last season and the addition of the vastly experienced 27-year-old is bound to improve the club at the back. Supporters will be happy to hear that United hope to get the deal completed by Wednesday.

Midfield starlet Eduardo Camavinga came in at second place, with 32 per cent of voters ranking him as a high priority.

The teenager is rated as one of the best young players in the world and could be available on the cheap this summer due to being in the last year of his contract at Rennes.

With Paul Pogba’s future at United in doubt, many fans believe Camavinga could be the perfect replacement. United are considering the Frenchman, but have made no move as of yet.

With 24 per cent of fans rating him as a top priority, Erling Haaland was in third place. United are extremely interested in the striker but the chance of a move this summer is close to nil, with Dortmund determined to keep him for another season and United focussing on other positions.

Another midfielder in Declan Rice came next. The West Ham man is United’s top midfield target but with the Hammers in a strong position and demanding a fee of at least £100million, a move is unlikely this summer.

What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below! Perhaps surprisingly, right-back Kieran Trippier was rated as a low priority with 40 per cent of fans ranking him between 1-3. United are interested in the England international to provide some attacking competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Atletico Madrid are hoping to keep him and are so far demanding a hefty price for the 30-year-old.

United fans believe there is little urgency in signing either of centre-back duo Jules Kounde or Pau Torres, especially with the club bringing in Varane.

Finally, the player ranked as the lowest priority is Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, who has been touted as a possible alternative to Rice.
