Russel Martin, who is the new manager of Swansea, managed Laird last season at MK Dons and knows the potential of the player.
Laird, who is nearing full fitness, talked about his plans for the summer earlier this summer. He told Inside United (h/t ManUtd.com):
“Yeah, of course. I mean, that’s the club I’m at and that’s where I want to be. Who knows, I can’t really give you a set answer on my future just yet, but I know that my long-term aim is to establish myself with United. Let’s just see what happens in the summer.”
Ethan Laird could be on his way to Swansea City this season Laird has only made 2 senior appearances for Manchester United with both of them coming in the 2019/20 Europa League campaign. While the defender’s long-term goal is to represent the senior team on a consistent basis, a loan move to a Championship club could bode well for him now.
