The 24-year-old joined the San Siro outfit in 2017 and has been brilliant for them since then. He has made 196 appearances for the club so far and has contributed to 47 goals during that period. Thus, he has been a loyal servant and a crucial part of their rise back to the Champions League.
However, Kessie might now be heading for the exit door. The midfielder has about eight months on his contract and is demanding a salary of £7.7million to stay in Italy. The Serie A outfit recently offered him an improvised offer of £5.5million, but the player rejected it.
Franck Kessie has rejected the latest contract offered by AC Milan and could leave on a free transfer next summer. (imago Images) This opens up the Ivorian to foreign clubs in the winter transfer window. In fact, if a club does not wish to sign him on a cut-price fee in January, they could also sort out a free transfer next summer.
Man United will look at this as an opportunity to sign an excellent player for absolutely nothing. The Red Devils have a promising midfield line, but a couple of contract issues has put that at risk.
Paul Pogba could leave on a free transfer next summer and Nemanja Matic could follow the same path in 2023. Donny van de Beek might also force a transfer in the coming window.

However, Arsenal are also interested in the midfielder, and the final decision could be made on the prospect of a hefty pay-check and Champions League football.
Both clubs could potentially offer both incentives, courtesy of which the Old Trafford must ensure they present a better project to the Ivorian international to prize him away from the competition.
