Grealish ‘to have spells on bench’ at Man City

Harry Kane’s skipped Tottenham training for a second day meaning one of the summer’s biggest possible transfers could be on.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with the striker, who himself has expressed a desire to leave, but the player believes his absence has been blow out of proportion.

Chelsea have also been linked but could now ramp up their efforts to secure a return for Romelu Lukaku.

Manchester United are still hoping to complete a deal for Raphael Varane whilst a midfielder also remains on their wishlist.

Ruben Neves is among those linked but he has addressed his Wolves future.

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, despite landing £50m man Ben White, are still looking to make moves with Tammy Abraham among them, but competition for the Blues forward is mounting.

Liverpool meanwhile have yet to flex their financial muscles since signing Ibrahima Konate.

Man Utd facing transfer issueManchester United are reportedly struggling to generate any interest in some of their squad players, as they desperately look to bolster their transfer funds.

United have already agreed a deal to sign Jadon Sancho, while a move for Raphael Varane is close to confirmation.

It is expected they will need to sell before they recruit any players after that, but the MEN claim they are struggling to trim their bloated squad.

Phil Jones in particular, who hasn’t played for 12 months is deemed as effectively unsellable.

Liverpool confirm new Fabinho dealFabinho has agreed to new terms on a new long-term Liverpool contract, the club have revealed.

“I’m delighted to have signed a new contract with the club,” Fabinho told Liverpoolfc.com. “Since the beginning of the conversation, I was really positive about it because it’s what I wanted – staying in this club, keep playing for Liverpool. Now this is official and I’m really happy.”

Arsenal’s role in Lukaku transferArsenal could yet play a key role in Chelsea’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

Chelsea are reading a huge bid for their former striker, with Inter Milan needing to sell one of their stars in order to stave off any financial concerns.

The Nerazzurri will demand £100m for Lukaku and the Telegraph report that they would rather sell Lautaro Martinez.

Martinez is believed to be a target for the Gunners, but as of yet, the Italian champions have yet to receive an offer for the Argentinian.

Romero on the verge of Spurs Cristian Romero is close to being a Tottenham Hotspur player.

Fabirizo Romano has given the transfer the ‘here we go’ and says Atalanta have accepted Spurs’s official bid for €50million (£42.6m), plus €5m (£4.2m) add-ons.

The Serie A side are said to be closing in on Merih Demiral from Juventus as a replacment in a loan-to-buy deal.

Hudson-Odoi given potential route out of ChelseaCallum Hudson-Odoi could be offered a way out of Chelsea this summer through former manager Maurizio Sarri.

According to Il Messaggero, Sarri’s new club, Lazio, have the Chelsea winger on their shortlist this summer.

The Rome club could reportedly pursue a transfer if they fail in their attempts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt wide man Filip Kostic.

Sarri gave the 20-year-old 24 appearances during their single season together, in which he netted four goals.

Brozovic switch to Premier League ‘unlikely’Marcelo Brozovic leaving Inter Milan this summer is reportedly ‘unlikely.’

La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia, claim the Crotia international’s potential new deal will now be discussed at the end of the transfer window due to the midfielder’s current contract expiring next summer.

Brozovic has been linked to Manchester United and other Premier League clubs in the last few weeks but due to Inter seeming set on either seeing him leave on a free next year or renewing terms due to new manager Simeone Inzaghi seeing him as pivotal to the Italian champions.

Lukaku’s agent ‘pushing’ for Chelsea moveThe agent who represents Romelu Lukaku, Federico Pastorello, is said to be ‘pushing’ for his client to return to Chelsea.

Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla says Pastorello has said ‘yes’ to a potential transfer but Inter Milan will only sanction a departure if Lukaku himself wants to leave.

Chelsea’s second offer of £85million plus Marcos Alonso was rejected over the past 24 hours.

Gunners propose Maddison offerArsenal have proposed a cash-plus-player offer to Leicester for James Maddison, who is open to a north London switch.

The cash aspect is dependent on who the Gunners include in the deal with the likes of Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson both possibilities.

Negotiations are slow as the Foxes aim to keep the playmaker, reports football.london.

Leicester demands are in excess of £60m.


Neves drops future hintMan Utd target Ruben Neves does not appear to be a man considering pastures new.

The Wolves midfielder had been linked with a move away and the Red Devils are seeking recruits in the middle of the pitch.

But Neves has spoken highly of life at Molineux as he begins life under a new boss.

“I’m completely focused here, to be fit for the start of the Premier League. It’s about pre-season and hard work – getting fit for the Premier League. That’s the main thing.

“We are getting the ideas of the new coach and I think we are doing well. We have a lot to improve but I think we are doing a great job. We still have two weeks – it’s a good time to train and improve. Let’s go for it!”


Villa deal Arsenal Abraham blowAston Villa are now trying to lure Tammy Abraham back to Villa Park as his Chelsea days look numbered.

Arsenal have been linked with the striker, but no deal is yet complete and the Midlands outfit want to pounce, reports the Telegraph.

Abraham previously enjoyed a loan spell at Aston Villa, who have recently signed Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen.

Much may depend on Jack Grealish’s future, but if he leaves Villa will have the funds to sign the Blues forward.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, the Inter Milan striker had a €111m (£95m) release clause inserted in his contract – but it expired last month.

Arsenal would have had to match that fee in the opening two weeks of July to bypass negotiations with the recently crowned Serie A champions and meet with Martinez himself.

The Guinean-born player’s contract expires next summer and there has been a standstill in negotiations, with Barca willing to cash-in on him this summer rather than risk losing the teenage as a free agent.


Blues committed to Lukaku moveChelsea have had two bids rejected for Lukaku, but they are prepared to come back in with a third imminently.

According to The Athletic, Tuchel is desperate to sign the Belgian but has been turned down by Inter so far this summer.

But they are not stopping there and the Blues intend on revisiting a transfer.

Neves prepared to stay putManchester United target Ruben Neves has hinted that he is happy to stay at Wolves and work under new boss Bruno Lage.

Lage has replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in the Molineux hotseat, with Neves expected to depart as the Midlands club raise funds for their own summer business.

One potential destination is Old Trafford but the Portugal international has now hinted that he would instead be happy to stay.

“He [Lage] is a very good coach. I am really happy to work with him,” he told Wolves TV.

“I spoke with a few friends when he signed for Wolves – that were players in Benfica and are good friends of mine – and they said a lot of good things about him.”


Kane’s no showHarry Kane was expected to report to Tottenham’s Enfield training ground on Monday morning – but was a notable absentee.

The striker has enjoyed an extended break following Euro 2020 but is linked with pastures new.

Tottenham are set to fine the Englishman, who has made it clear he wants to leave.

Man City remain his most likely destination.
