  • Pot Luck?

Graham Potter has remained coy on whether Chelsea might make a grab for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The long-term Arsenal target is reportedly now a target for Stamford Bridge chiefs who are looking to swoop for a shock deal.

He said: “We’ve to deal with all the noise of Chelsea getting linked with everybody and I don’t comment on any deal.”

  • Kean on a move?

Everton’s Michael Keane has been linked with a move to West Ham.

The centre-back “would be interested” in a switch, according to GiveMeSport.

Keane has only made one Premier League appearance this season having been a regular since his arrival in 2017. But the defender has been afflicted with injury issues.

Both Everton and West Ham are struggling this season with managers Frank Lampard and David Moyes under heavy pressure respectively.

  • Schade Confirmed

Brentford have announced they have completed their first piece of business with the loan signing of Kevin Schade.

The Freiberg striker is expected to sign permanently in the summer on a five-year contract.

The 21-year-old can provide support for Ivan Toney up front and will be hoping to make his debut in the coming weeks.

  • Fer Real?

Chelsea have been told to restructure their transfer bid for Enzo Fernandez by Benfica.

The Blues have submitted an offer believed to be around £112million.

That is above Fernandez’s £106m buyout clause but Benfica are still not happy with the deal.

The Portuguese club is demanding Chelsea restructure their bid, which was made up of three payments of 37.3m over three years.

Chelsea are hoping to evade financial fair play restrictions by staggering their payments, having spent heavily in the summer.

  • Sombre Mood

Manchester United are reportedly lining up a move for Diogo Costa this summer.

That’s because top target Yann Sommer looks destined to join Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old Gladbach goalkeeper emerged on United’s radar last month amid doubts over David De Gea’s future.

But Bayern Munich have been tracking Sommer since losing Manuel Neuer to a freak skiing injury.

And Blick claims a deal is now close for Switzerland’s No1 to join the German champions.

  • Ill At Ease

Chelsea and Newcastle are both interested in signing Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier, according to reports.

The Frenchman has impressed for Jesse Marsch’s side, becoming the youngest goalkeeper ever to reach 50 Prem appearances.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, Chelsea and Newcastle both hold interest in the 22-year-old stopper.

Meslier impressed against Newcastle on Saturday, keeping a clean sheet in his side’s 0-0 draw at St James’ Park.

  • Total Ri-Call

Rico Lewis will reportedly be rewarded with a new contract after bursting onto the scene at Manchester City.

The 18-year-old has managed to stake a first-team place in Pep Guardiola’s team after a series of mature performances for the club.

The academy graduate still has four years to run on his current deal but City are still keen to open negotiations, according to the Mail.

The full-back has started all three games that City have played since the World Cup break.

  • More Money for Mykhaylo Mudryk

Arsenal will need to increase their bid for Mykhaylo Mudryk after Chelsea got involved in the fight for the player, reports say.

The Gunners wanted to land the Ukrainian winger for around £60million but Shakhtar want something closer to £85m.

The Standard report that Shakhtar feel their position has been strengthened after the Blues emerged as contenders for Mudryk.

The 21-year-old has been a target for Arsenal for months but Emirates chiefs have hit a roadblock on the price.

  • Wagner Back?

David Wagner is set for a return to English football and will take over the Norwich City job, according to reports.

Dean Smith was sacked after Christmas by the Canaries and now the former Huddersfield manager is being strongly linked to the role.

Since leaving the John Smith Stadium, he has managed Schalke and Young Boys.

  • We need to talk about Kevin

Brentford are closing in on their first January signing as they look to land Kevin Schade.

The young forward from Freiburg is reportedly set for an initial loan deal until the end of the season which will include an obligation to buy.

This will see Brentford effectively commit to buying him for around £20m if certain performance-related add-ons are met.

The 21-year-old German has netted one goal in eight appearances so far this season.

  • Jackpot

Manchester United are in talks over signing Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland, according to reports.

The Red Devils are supposedly keen to bring in a new back-up stopper after Martin Dubravka’s loan deal at the club was ended by Newcastle.

Butland played 15 times for Palace in all competitions last season.

However, the 29-year-old has now has fallen down the pecking order at Patrick Vieira’s side after sustaining an injury – he has not made an appearance during this campaign.

With his minutes restricted by both Vicente Guaita and Sam Johnstone, United believe a deal is possible, claim The Telegraph.

  • London Calling

Shakhtar Donetsk director Darijo Srna will reportedly be in London this week, according to reports.

The club chief is expected to attend Thursday’s Stamford Bridge clash between Chelsea and Manchester City.

But he adds that Arsenal remains the 21-year-old’s priority.

  • Frank Conversations

Pressure ramped up massively on Frank Lampard last night after he watched his side get demolished at home by Brighton.

The Toffees are once again in a relegation battle with Lampard suffering his 19th defeat in 36 league games at the club.

After the defeat, he said: “We’re all in it together, it’s not a question of anger. We’re all disappointed, we all want to win games.

“I won’t go into what was said in the dressing room afterwards. That’s for us to get right. Manchester United [in the FA Cup] comes in a few days.

“We have to fight for consistency, for sure.”

  • Best Birthday Gift ever?

Mykhaylo Mudryk celebrates his 22nd birthday tomorrow.

By the time he blows the candles off his cake he is very unlikely to be an Arsenal player but he will be hoping some progress will still be made in the next 24 hours.

The latest is the Gunners £62million offer being reportedly rebuffed by Shakhtar Donetsk who want more cash.

The issue for Arsenal is the fact that Chelsea are now sniffing around Mudryk, as revealed by SunSport. Mikel Arteta and co could now be in a race against time to land the Ukrainian winger.

  • I Want You to Stay

Barcelona manager Xavi has insisted he wants Memphis Depay to stay put.

The Dutchman has been linked with a sensational return to Man United this window but Xavi has claimed he does not want to lose any body in January.

He said: “I don’t want anyone to leave. I’m delighted with the squad.

“It seems there won’t be a market for us. I’m happy with Depay. His attitude is good and he will be important for us. He has the ability to make a difference. He’ll have minutes. Like all of them.”

  • Soar Blimey

Arsenal are reportedly desperate to offload Cedric Soares this month.

But his huge wage demands are putting Fulham off from making a transfer swoop.

Cedric, 31, has been at Arsenal for three years after an initial loan move from Southampton.

But he has made just two Premier League appearances this term.

And Mikel Arteta is keen to get Cedric off the wage bill so he can bring in new faces for Arsenal’s title charge.

  • You Cont Understand Me

Antonio Conte has suggested his comments on transfers were lost in translation.

The Tottenham boss raged after the Aston Villa defeat and suggested more bodies were need.

But ahead of tonight’s trip to Crystal Palace, the Italian side said: “I didn’t suggest anything [on needing more transfers]. This is the difference. I understand that maybe my English is not so good and maybe you don’t understand which is my thought.

“I said only what we are doing, which is the project, which is the programme. But I didn’t suggest anything.”

  • Wan to Watch

Man United might still sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka despite his impressive recent showings.

Injuries has allowed the full-back to stake a run in the first-team for the first time under Erik ten Hag.

But reports indicate the club will be still willing to let him go with multiple clubs interested.

Wan-Bissaka has been linked with a return to Crystal Palace.

  • Got the Blues

Chelsea are attempting to hijack Arsenal’s deal for Mykhaylo Mudryk, SunSport have exclusively revealed.

The 21-year-old has for months now been a target for the Premier League leaders – but the Gunners have struggled on the price.

Shakhtar Donetsk chiefs have openly claimed they want ‘Jack Grealish’ amounts of money for the 21-year-old.

Arsenal are trying to bring down the high price demands for the winger, but now face competition from a rival club that regularly break the bank to recruit the best.

If the Blues agree to meet the asking price, around £60million with another £20million in add-ons, and offer better terms than the Gunners they could pip the Premier League leaders to the deal.

  • Morning football fans

Chelsea are revving up their interest in Manchester United target Enzo Fernandez and hoping to hijack Arsenal’s move for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

And Cristiano Ronaldo claims he rejected “multiple” European clubs in favour of his £173million-a-year Al Nassr contract.

Those are just three of the major topics already emerging in the January transfer window.

It’s claimed the only obstacle to Chelsea landing Fernandez is Benfica president Rui Costa holding out for the Argentina midfielder’s £106m release clause.

Meanwhile, Blues’ co-owner Todd Boehly is reportedly prepared to outbid Arsenal for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mudryk.

The Ukraine star is said to have agreed terms with the Gunners.

But so far Arsenal have ‘only’ offered around £62m, whereas Chelsea might be prepared to pay £60m plus £20m add-ons.

Manchester United and Real Madrid legend Ronaldo, 37, has hit back after suggestions he had few alternative options to joining Saudi club Al Nassr.

Unveiled at a press conference in Riyadh, the Portugal frontman said: “I had many opportunities in Europe, many clubs, in Brazil, in Australia, the US, even in Portugal many clubs tried to sign me.

“But I gave my word to this club, for the opportunity to develop not only the football but the other part of this amazing country.”

Prem bottom side Southampton are close to a £7.5m deal for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Mislav Orsic.

The Saints have also opened talks over signing Lorient striker Terem Moffi and are plotting a £12m move for Racing Club midfield ace Carlos Alcaraz.

Lastly, Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has ruled out selling Portugal midfielder Matheus Nunes as Liverpool circle.
