Tottenham have told Manchester United they want solely money for Harry Kane instead of a swap deal, according to reports. Manchester City are currently frontrunners in the race to land the England international. But that hasn’t stopped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from eyeing a late hijack.

Manchester United have signed three players so far this summer.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton has returned to the club on a free transfer from Aston Villa, with Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane then landing from Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid respectively.

However, Tribal Football also say United are eyeing a late deal for a striker before the window slams shut on August 31.

It’s claimed they recently ‘put the feelers out there’ on a potential move for Kane.

But Tottenham made it clear they wanted solely money in order to let the England international go, meaning the Red Devils are now looking at Luka Jovic instead.

Daniel Levy is adamant his prized asset won’t be allowed to leave the capital, despite Kane wanting to leave north London behind.

And what happens with Kane is something time will tell.

Former United star Wes Brown said earlier this summer that the Red Devils should sign Kane, thinking it’s ‘fairly obvious’ someone will.

“I think it’s fairly obvious someone will sign Harry Kane this summer,” said the 41-year-old.

“He’s going to cost a lot of money, and I’d love to see him at Manchester United. You never know what’s going to happen with him; there are probably three or four clubs that could afford him, and United are definitely one of them.

“I think Harry’s got to the stage in his career now where he really does want to start winning things. He knows how good he is and he just wants to be playing in a top-class team.

“Man City have just got rid of Sergio Aguero and they’ll always be looking to bring in the best players, so if they are interested, I don’t see why he wouldn’t go there.

“He’s played so well over the last seven years or so.

“I’ve played against Harry Kane a few times and I’ve always said the same thing: he’s different to other strikers.

“Other strikers make long runs all over the pitch, but Harry waits. He’s very clever. If you give him any space or time in the box, he’ll punish you. It’s something you can’t really teach.”

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has claimed Kane is available for his side’s upcoming showdown with Manchester City on Sunday.

“All the players in the squad that work on a daily basis will be options for us, then it’s up to us to decide,” he said.

“First of all we have to speak.

“This is going to happen today, and after that we hope to solve all the situations.

“It’s not about that (Kane’s late return), it’s about what we have to do to solve the situation – this is important.

“We have to solve it together, everybody involved has to solve it together – speaking, having a nice conversation and putting our opinions, but everybody together.”
