Three clubs ready to do “everything possible” to sign Mason Greenwood, €90m offer already made – report

Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia, as per reports.

On paper, the Olympique de Marseille star is enjoying a prolific campaign in the south of France.

After being pushed out of his boyhood club due to off-field issues, Greenwood has rediscovered his goalscoring touch in Ligue 1, having scored 16 goals and registered four assists in 28 league appearances.

However, the 23-year-old has still attracted negative headlines, owing to his tricky relationship with Roberto De Zerbi.

The ex-Brighton & Hove Albion boss has revealed his concerns over the Englishman’s work ethic and was even understood to have been involved in a heated exchange with his prolific forward in training. The situation has led to suggestions of an early exit.

Saudi Arabian clubs want Mason Greenwood

According to Fichajes, Greenwood is the subject of an offer in the region of €90 million from Saudi Arabia.

It is claimed that several Arab clubs are interested in signing him and are willing to “pay a considerable sum” to secure his services.

Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr are all reportedly prepared to “do everything possible to sign him.”

However, the Spanish outlet suggest that Marseille are not too keen on parting ways with the player, who only joined them from United last summer in a deal worth over £26 million.

Any movement would alert United, as the Red Devils have a 50 per cent sell-on clause.

It is thought that the Premier League giants would “receive half of the sum, approximately €45 million” if he moves to the Gulf Kingdom.

Despite being left out of De Zerbi’s starting lineup before the March international break, Greenwood is reported to be happy with the Phocéens and intends to continue playing in Europe, further complicating Saudi’s pursuit.
