“That is not accurate”: Ornstein drops a bomb regarding United attacker’s future, fans will be distraught

Despite being available for a transfer for the last two seasons, Jadon Sancho’s future is yet to be resolved by Manchester United.

Most recent reports have stated that the Englishman is very close to sealing an exit to Juventus, with even a medical already scheduled.

United fans were delighted with these updates, with most keen to see the back of the ex-Manchester City academy graduate owing to his conduct while at the club.

He fell out with former boss Erik ten Hag, burned his bridges with the club after he left to join Chelsea on loan, including certain objectionable social media activity.

Sancho not close to Juve move

But The Athletic’s David Ornstein has poured cold water on these reports, stating that a deal is far from close. In fact, Napoli’s interest is more concrete than that of the Bianconeri.

“Jadon Sancho has been heavily rumoured to be closing in on a move to Juventus.

“That is not accurate as I understand it at all and I’m not quite sure where that has emanated from. There is an element of interest from Napoli.”

The journalist also claimed that as the window progresses, more interested suitors will emerge. But for now, his humongous wages are a huge stumbling block for clubs.

Hope United can agree a deal soon

He earns £250,000 gross per week, excluding bonuses (via capology), something even Chelsea were not prepared to pay him.

As a result of his demands, and his inconsistent displays, the England international was not kept on at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues even paying a penalty to get rid of the 25-year-old.

United are likely to reduce his asking price even further, while they might even need to pay him off to leave. There is interest from within the Premier League as well, so it will be interesting to see how that develops.

Hopefully, this saga can come to a close this summer to avoid Jadon Sancho and his future from becoming another distraction to the club.
