Erik ten Hag is believed to want Man United to sign Joshua Zirkzee this summer, while concrete talks have now started.

Manchester United Football Club are now in the middle of what is a vital summer. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are hoping to make a positive first impression over the coming months, with major signings needed in multiple areas.

Over the last 24 hours or so, a deal to acquire Joshua Zirkzee is now starting to ramp up. It seems as though that the Dutchman is the striker that Erik ten Hag has identified as a top target.

Now, Florian Plettenberg has provided his latest information in regard to the Reds’ pursuit of Zirkzee.

According to his information, Ten Hag ‘wants’ the signing of the 23-year-old this summer, while ‘concrete’ talks between United and the player’s agent (Kia Joorabchian) are now taking place.]

AC Milan are believed to be the current frontrunners for Zirkzee’s signature, though United are given ‘good chances’ at hijacking their move to sign the striker.

Check out Florian Plettenberg’s X post on the news here:

🚨🔴 Been told that concrete talks between ManUtd and Joshua Zirkzee‘s

The Bologna forward scored 12 goals in 37 appearances last term, showcasing his ability to play at the highest level. No doubt that’s exactly why some of Europe’s top clubs are now showing an interest in bringing in the attacker.

Ten Hag has always opted for familiarity with his signings and this is another move that would tick that box. Zirkzee is a Dutchman, who the United boss will no doubt have followed for quite some time now.

As a support striker to Rasmus Hojlund, Zirkzee would be an astute piece of business. The only problem I forsee is that Zirkzee will not be starting every single game and that may not be ideal for the player, who is looking to improve and grow.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Joshua Zirkzee would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
