Talks held over surprise Ronaldo exit, United legend planning to return to Europe on deadline day – report

Casemiro showed his class yet again, making a difference at both ends of the pitch to help Manchester United secure their third consecutive win. The Brazilian veteran is nearing the end of his time at United. Still, he remains the Red Devils’ most reliable midfielder, and he has taken his game up a notch since Michael Carrick’s arrival. Casemiro’s form represents quite a turnaround from 18 months ago, when many fans and pundits alike believed the ageing midfielder did not have the legs to play in Europe anymore and should move to Saudi Arabia. The 33-year-old continues to attract interest from the Saudi Pro League. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on a reunion with his former Real Madrid and United teammate in Riyadh.  Ronaldo furious with Benzema move In a dramatic turn of events, Ronaldo is now considering leaving the Saudi giants.  According to Fichajes, Ronaldo has “gone on strike” and is refusing to play in Al-Nassr’s next match. It is believed Al-Hilal are trying to sign Karim Benzema, who is ready to leave Al-Ittihad. Both clubs are controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Ronaldo reportedly believes this move would completely disrupt the league’s “competitive balance.” Ronaldo could return to Europe The supposed stand-off between Ronaldo and the Saudi Pro League has reopened the door to a possible return to Europe, claims the Spanish outlet.  It is suggested that intermediaries are exploring the possibility of a late January deal. However, a transfer of such a magnitude is “extremely complex” as the winter windows across the major leagues are due to shut on Monday. Still, several European clubs reportedly remain open to considering the idea of signing Ronaldo on a short-term deal ahead of the World Cup.
