Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that he does not expect Manchester United to make any more signings this summer.

There is now less than a week remaining of the current window and United are continuing to be linked with more signings ahead of the August 31 deadline.

As well as the three signings they have made, the club were also keen on bringing right-back Kieran Trippier home to Manchester signing a defensive-midfielder this summer.

This week Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has once again been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but the Manchester Evening News understands a deal is unlikely, with Chelsea a more possible destination.

It’s been understood for a number of weeks that United making any more additions this summer is doubtful as it would be dependent on player sales to make room in the budget.

So far United have been unable to move any players on on a permanent basis and thus are unlikely to add to their £116million outlay this summer.

It has still been a strong window, however, with Jadon Sancho finally signed from Borussia Dortmund and a world-class centre-back in Raphael Varane recruited to improve the defence, as well as back-up goalkeeper Tom Heaton returning to the club on a free transfer.

Solskjaer is pleased with the club’s business this summer and doesn’t expect there to be any more arrivals.

“I don’t think much is going to happen,” the manager told Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada.

“If something happens, it is a bonus. You never know what happens in the world of football. But we’ve had a very good window. I am happy with what we’ve done.”
