Sesko inching closer to sealing blockbuster United move after latest major development – report

Benjamin Sesko has taken one giant step towards joining Manchester United as the club step up their pursuit of the striker.

United launch bid for Sesko

United are currently working on signing a striker as part of their efforts to bolster the attacking department, with Sesko the leading candidate on their wishlist.

The Red Devils have been tracking Sesko for years, going back to his days at RB Salzburg, but have repeatedly fallen short in their attempts to sign him. Now, however, the striker seems open to taking the next step, with United locked in a fierce battle with Newcastle for his signature.

Earlier today, it emerged that United had lodged an opening bid worth just under £74m (€85m) for the RB Leipzig talisman.

It’s understood that United sent in an initial £65m plus around £8.9m (€75m + €10m) in performance-related add-ons.

Newcastle have also been working on a deal for Sesko as they face a fight to keep hold of unsettled star Alexander Isak, who is pushing for a switch to Arne Slot’s Liverpool.

The Magpies launched a second bid worth a total €90m for Sesko, having first presented the Bundesliga outfit with a €75m+€5m proposal.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Leipzig are set to leave the final decision to Sesko regarding which of the two clubs he prefers, though there is a growing belief that he is leaning towards a move to United.

A new major update has come out of Germany, indicating that Sesko has agreed personal terms with both United and Newcastle.
