Serie A side confirm they are in talks over personal terms with United star, have set one non-negotiable demand

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed that they’ve made an offer to out-of-favour Manchester United star Jadon Sancho, but they will certainly not meet his high salary demands.

Sancho is believed to be of interest to Napoli as he looks to bring his miserable United spell to a permanent end.

The England international has struggled since he joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. The Red Devils forked out £73m to secure his services, having missed out on him the year before.

However, Sancho has managed just nine Premier League goals for United and has yet to recover from a high-profile fallout with Erik ten Hag that played out in public.

Sancho spent last term out on loan at Chelsea but he never truly convinced, putting up mixed performances. Chelsea opted against the obligation to sign him for £25m and had to pay United a £5m penalty fee for sending him back.

He netted five goals and provided 10 assists in 41 matches for the Blues, who clinched the UEFA Conference League and a top-four finish in the Premier League during his time there.

Since then, Sancho has been linked with several clubs, but Napoli appear to be making the strongest advances for him. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Sancho is also eager to join the Serie A champions in a bid to revive his struggling career.

Juventus have also been mentioned as an interested party in the 25-year-old.

Sancho’s move to Napoli is now in serious doubt after sporting director Giovanni Manna stated that the club is unwilling to meet his salary expectations.

Manna said [as quoted by Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu on X], “Our offer is clear.”

“We will not pay Sancho’s requested salary.”

Sancho still has one year left on his United contract, which is believed to be worth around £300,000-per-week.
