Serie A giant seen as the “priority” for controversial United forward as Italian sides lock horns – Di Marzio

SSC Napoli are reported to be Jadon Sancho’s preferred destination between Juventus and themselves.

The Englishman had a mixed bag of a season at Chelsea last year but did score in the Conference League final.

Nonetheless, the Blues did not take up the option to sign the winger and paid a £5 million penalty clause to send him back to Old Trafford.

The Englishman has been linked to a host of clubs in England, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Italy over recent days.

It has been reported that Sancho has agreed to join SSC Napoli and that Juventus have also tabled an offer of around €25 million for the player’s services.

Italian journalist Di Marzio claims that Juventus have made moves for the attacker, even though there is no mention of a bid as of yet.

Juve are desperate to improve their squad for new boss Igor Tudor and have honed in on Sancho.

It has been reported that “on Friday 20 June, there was a new phone call between Juventus and the Red Devils to discuss the English footballer.”

Nonetheless, Juventus’ proactivity does not mean that Napoli have given up in the race for the England international.

In fact, the Serie A champions are said to be in pole position for the winger.

It has been reported that Napoli can “count on being the priority of the player himself” as they made their interest known before the rest of the competition.

There has been a recent influx of Premier League based stars to Naples such as United’s former midfielder Scott McTominay, as well as Billy Gilmour and Kevin De Bruyne.

United will hope that both clubs’ interest will drive up a higher price as they aim to sell Sancho to kickstart an important summer of exits to free up financial space and squad room.
