Serial European trophy winner ready to replace Amorim at United, Rashford would love his appointment – report

Ruben Amorim’s turbulent start at Old Trafford has led to Manchester United’s interest in Unai Emery, as per reports.

Amorim is struggling to steady the ship at United, managing just five wins in his first 16 Premier League games in charge of the Red Devils.

With United struggling to deliver convincing performances and finding themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League, Ineos’ patience with their recent hire could “soon run out” as per a report in Spain.

Unai Emery interested in Manchester United job

According to Fichajes, if Amorim fails to “turn things around” the club’s hierarchy could take a drastic measure and “speed up the search” for his replacement.

United are already exploring their options and it is claimed that Emery has emerged as “one of the most attractive” candidates to lead the side’s new project.

The Spaniard has earned plenty of plaudits for his work at Villa, turning the Midlands outfit into one of the league’s most resilient sides. The Lions have progressed into the round of 16 of the Champions League and are enjoying a good run of form in the Premier League.

It is added that his European pedigree makes him “an ideal candidate” to manage a club the size of United. He is a record four-time Europa League winner.

The ex-Arsenal, Sevilla, and Paris Saint-Germain boss is also believed to be interested in potentially managing United.

It is still early days but Emery has already shown his brilliant man management by providing Marcus Rashford the right environment to enjoy his football. The Englishman, currently on loan at Villa from United, has already registered three assists for his new club.

The pair seems to be enjoying working together and the idea of them replicating the same at Carrington might excite many.

However, as things stand, Ineos have not indicated any desire to part ways with Amorim so suggestions of their interest in his potential replacements should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Further, the cash-strapped United only recently spent a lot of money to sack Ten Hag and sign Amorim from Sporting CP. As such, even if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and company aren’t best pleased with the current head coach’s work, they might not be in a position to make another big managerial change.
