Manchester United pair Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes have both taken to social media this evening, to react to the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to the club.

‘Welcome home’ The bombshell news which rocked European football to its very core was of course forthcoming a short time ago.

This came in the form of confirmation that Cristiano Ronaldo has opted to seal a sensational move back to the Premier League, with former club Manchester United.

The Portuguese had actually been widely expected to pen terms with the Red Devils’ city neighbours, Manchester City, after making clear his desire to depart Serie A giants Juventus this week.

However, the lure of the Theatre of Dreams, and the chance to pull on the colours of his beloved United, ultimately proved too much for Ronaldo to turn down.

In turn, on Friday evening, Manchester United took to social media, to confirm that their one-time prodigal son has indeed returned, ahead of an expected Premier League title challenge:

‘Agent Bruno’ And, as outlined above, swiftly following the announcement regarding CR7’s comeback has been a host of further Twitter activity, on the part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

First up was Jadon Sancho, who posted the following simple message in anticipation of linking up with the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner:

Bruno Fernandes, of course an international teammate of Ronaldo, quickly followed up with his own ‘welcome back’ message:

‘Agent Bruno’?

And Jesse Lingard was sure to join in on the fun, too, with the English international having exclaimed:
