Ruben Amorim pushing United to sign brilliant Bundesliga playmaker keen on PL move – report

Ruben Amorim has endured a rocky year at Manchester United, but his side are now starting to show promise. Despite finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing the Europa League final last season, INEOS backed the Portuguese, who had previously worked wonders with Sporting. The Red Devils spent a small fortune on their attack over the summer, while also strengthening their goalkeeper department. The reinforcements have helped the team, with the English giants currently on a five-game unbeaten run. However, further additions to the squad are expected in 2026, with the midfield among Amorim’s top priorities. United need a succession plan in midfield While the new-look midfield pairing of Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes has impressed this season, they are not the long-term solution in that position. The Brazilian, meanwhile, is out of contract next summer, so the club need to put a succession plan in place for midfield. In order to dominate possession and control games, United need someone with an eye for a pass who can also shield the back line. A recent report now suggests that Amorim has already identified his ideal candidate for the job. Amorim wants Angelo Stiller According to Fichajes, Amorim has asked United to secure the services of VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller in 2026. The German pass master has been outstanding once again for the Bundesliga club this season, registering 17 appearances across competitions, all but two of which have been starts. Amorim knows that his team need an upgrade in the middle of the park and reportedly believes that Stiller is the ideal candidate for the job. The Portuguese head coach feels that the 24 year old can help free up the attacking players in the team. The German is blessed with vision and positional awareness, and also has the ability to dictate the tempo of the game. In the current United side, he can contribute to both the defence and attack, while helping to control possession. However, prising him away from the MHP Arena won’t be easy, given that he is under contract until 2028. Stuttgart consider him a key part of their plans, and are unlikely to entertain any talk of an exit in the winter. The player, though, could be open to an exit next summer, and has previously expressed a desire to move abroad. Stiller is reportedly valued at between €50 million and €60 million, making him a cheaper alternative to the likes of Baleba, Wharton and Anderson. Angelo Stiller has averaged 9.72 progressive passes p90 over the last year, putting him in the top 2% of central midfielders across Europe’s top five leagues.
