Roy Keane slams Harry Maguire for ’embarrassing’ England celebration

Former Manchester United star Roy Keane pulled no punches this evening, in taking aim at Red Devils star Harry Maguire.

Kane at the treble Maguire is of course currently locked in action with his country.

In a crunch World Cup qualifying outing, England welcomed Albania to Wembley, aiming to take another major step towards booking their spot at next year’s Qatar showpiece.

And, as things stand on Friday night, it is safe to say that the Three Lions are well on their way to exactly that.

An utterly dominant opening 45 minutes currently sees Gareth Southgate’s men in possession of a 5-0 advantage, owing to strikes from the aforementioned Maguire, Jordan Henderson, and a Harry Kane hat-trick.

Oh Harry! Stop that! 🔥

‘A disgrace’ As outlined above, though, despite his latest goal on the international stage, and England’s hefty advantage, upon the half-time whistle sounding in the capital this evening, one man who was keen to take aim at Maguire in altogether ruthless fashion was Roy Keane.

Former Manchester United midfielder Keane, who has never been shy in making his qualms with the Red Devils’ captain clear, drew issue with the celebration unveiled by Maguire upon finding the net versus Albania.

In an evident message to his critics, the former Leicester City man put his fingers in his ears, before cupping his ears in wheeling away towards the touchline.

And Keane, for one, is of the opinion that Maguire’s behaviour proved nothing short of ’embarrassing’, with the ITV pundit having sniped:

‘He thinks he’s shutting the critics up. But I think it’s embarrassing. He’s been a disgrace the last couple months for Man United. He thinks if he scores there, he’s going to shut his critics up. Embarrassing.’

“That’s embarrassing, he’s been a disgrace the last few months for Man Utd.”
