Sterling struggles for game-time It has been a tricky few months for Raheem Sterling.

Starring at Euro 2020 for England, he has failed to reproduce that form at club level, and in many ways has not been afforded the opportunity to.

Surrounded by a host of talent even before the British transfer record was broken to bring Jack Grealish to the Etihad Stadium in the summer, Sterling has slipped down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order, with the 26-year-old having made just three Premier League starts so far this season.

Even against Manchester United, a game which his side dominated, Sterling found himself an unused substitute as Pep Guardiola opted not to make any changes, depriving him further of valuable minutes.

As such, it is unsurprising to hear rumours linking the England man with a move away in search of first-team football, but there seemed little substance to them. Until now.

Sterling “open to Barcelona loan move” Now, as per a report in the Times, an update has been provided on Sterling’s future. He has been linked with a move to Barcelona, which given the Spanish club’s financial issues would have to be a loan. However, it is something that Sterling is “open to”, according to the report.

Despite this, it does stress that it would only be considered “Should he fail to break back into the Manchester City team by January”, revealing that:

“Sterling is committed to winning back his place in the team and extending his stay at the Etihad”.

Alternatively, it has been suggested that the Citizens have placed a price of 45 million pounds on the 26 year-olds head, which will surely have a whole host of clubs on red alert given his obvious talent.

Would he be a good fit at Barca, or should he be looking to move elsewhere?
