Manchester United are showing an interest in signing Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Oscar Gloukh having scouted him in the international break.
A busy summer transfer window only came to an end a couple of weeks ago and yet rumours for 2024 are already emerging.
The Sun now claim that United are showing an interest in signing Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Oscar Gloukh.
It’s claimed that Arsenal are also interested in signing Gloukh with both clubs scouting him in action for Israel during the international break.
Gloukh scored against Romania last weekend to earn Israel a 1-1 draw before playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Belarus.
United may well have been impressed and appear to have Gloukh on the transfer radar for 2024 or beyond.
Who is Manchester United target Oscar Gloukh?
Gloukh hails from Rehovot in Israel and spent time with Maccabi She’arayim before joining the Maccabi Tel Aviv ranks as a kid.
A creative midfield player, Gloukh showed huge promise for Maccabi Tel Aviv, scoring nine goals in 36 first-team games.
Gloukh really shot to prominence during the Under-19 European Championships last summer, driving Israel to the final against England.
MORE UNITED STORIES
The playmaker scored in the final but couldn’t stop England from winning the tournament.
Hailed as ‘special’ by former Israel international Gil Vermouth, Gloukh was targeted by a host of European clubs but he decided to pick Red Bull Salzburg in January of this year.
How has Gloukh fared in Austria?
Gloukh’s decision was certainly influenced by the outstanding talent development in Salzburg, with the Red Bull side helping produce some top stars around Europe.
The 19-year-old had a fairly quiet start after his arrival, bagging two goals and two assists in 17 outings.
Gloukh is off to a hot start this season though, record three assists and one goal in just eight games.
Gloukh looks destined to become one of Salzburg’s next big sales, and United may well be preparing to make a move for the teenager.
