Shown on the Real Madrid official website in the club shop, Adidas have put forth a superb effort tapping into the past while offering a simplistic yet clean take for the current campaign.

Over the last 34-years, Madrid have dipped into various shades of blue to express themselves on the pitch eighteen times, while also utilizing purple on at least ten occasions as well.

For base value, this is the first time since the 1999-00 season that Madrid will don a kit of a shade of blue as light as this one, but in a year where kit manufacturers have increasingly turned to more complicated designs with impressive results and catastrophic failures in equal measure, Adidas keeping it simple and classy has come off as a hit with it’s first impressions on social media.

Black trim brilliantly contrasts the turquoise blue and makes it pop just that much more, while white lettering and white adidas stripes offer balance between the two. Though the shade of blue is even lighter, the kit is an excellent rendition of the 99-00 away kit with a similar lay-out apart from a different color choice for the famous three stripes on the shoulders.

First chance to see Madrid don their new kit Real Madrid are coming off a 5-2 demolition job at home to Celta Vigo last weekend which featured a Karim Benzema hat-trick and new boy Eduardo Camavinga bagging his first goal for the club since his summer move, as well as a 1-0 win on the road at Inter Milan to open their Champions League group stage campaign.

Eduardo Camavinga:

• Scores on his La Liga debut

• Assists Rodrygo in the 89’ on his first Champions League game with Real Madrid

This weekend they’ll look to stay on track when they head south to clash with Valencia at the Mestalla against José Bordalás’ Los murciélagos who are level on points (10) with both Madrid clubs in what is a top of the table clash.

Given that Los Blancos are away from home, their new digs could certainly be on display for the occasion.
